Sign up for our new e-learning course for teachers

The Commission, in partnership with Liverpool John Moores University, has developed a new e-learning course for teachers to help meet the rights of disabled learners under the reasonable adjustments duty. 'Unlocking Opportunities' is aimed at all schools to help teachers, SENCOs and extra-curricular activity providers remove barriers to learning for disabled children and young people.

Why should teachers register?

All schools are required to take steps to remove or prevent barriers to learning for disabled children and young people. The course is packed with real life case studies and practical examples from schools.

Examples include how to manage:

  • Asthma.
  • Food allergies.
  • Hearing and visual impairments.
  • Learning difficulties and mental health issues.
