Letter to Chair of the JCHR re Transparency of Lobbying, Non-party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration Bill

The Equality and Human Rights Commission has been following recent scrutiny of proposals contained in the Transparency of Lobbying, Non-party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration Bill.

We have taken note of the increasing volume of evidence being presented from many quarters - including individuals, charities, voluntary organisations, trade union and regulatory bodies - about how the measures in this Bill could have an adverse impact upon privacy rights, freedom of expression and freedom of assembly during election periods.
